But whenever she sees Aspen standing guard around the palace, and is overcome with memories of the life they planned to share. With the group narrowed down to the Elite, the other girls are even more determined to win Maxon over—and time is running out for America to decide.

My Thoughts: Sigh... I thought it couldn't get any cheesier than that. OK, it's not like I detested The Selection, I just thought it was a little screwed up and too happy to be classified as dystopian. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get the whole thing about people wanting to overthrow the government proves that it is a dystopian. Still, is it a true dystopian?

Well, at least I learned that The Selection was a NYT bestseller. Now that surprised me, but who's to say that I'm in charge of the world of books. Anyway, I just hope that The Elite will be much better than The Selection.

  1. Liking the color of the dress. I haven't read the first book yet. I don't know really what the book is about. Is it just because their too happy that you don't think it's a dystopian? Why's it a dystopian in the first place?
This is the second time that the cover looks wrong to me. The first time I didn't notice until someone pointed out that it looked like she was smelling her armpit which was gross to hear and hilarious too.
This time she just looks like she really doesn't want to be there. It's kind of frustrating for me but whatever...

  2. I don't think I could ever bring myself to read The Selection, especially after it received so many negative reviews. It just doesn't sound like my type of book.

I like this cover better than the first one. The colors are beautiful.

  3. I haven't read The Selection yet. I want to, but haven't had a chance. I fell in love with the cover and I'm really loving The Elite's cover too. I've heard a lot of people didn't like The Selection, mostly for the same reason, that it was too happy or cheesy. I don't really have a problem with a dystopian being happy (I think the world can still be screwed up even if the characters aren't) but I'm afraid that it might be too cheesy. I hope it's not though, because I really do want to read it!

  4. SO PRETTY!!!! The covers for this series are just stunning, I want both of those dresses. I could wear them exciting places like the gas station. Or the grocery store. Whichever:)

  5. Hmmm, this does look quite cheesy. But I have to say, this cover contrasts quite nicely compared to the first book's cover. This is starting to remind me of Matched, the way the covers were designed.
